Since reading is a private activity and book collecting not much more social, book fetishists are often alone in their fascination. At least once annually we design a salon theme around a group event. It is customary for us to kick off the new season with a group event and 2020 will be no exception. For sympathetic glue we choose a theme and invite guests to bring a special valuable, collected, precious book to show and discuss with fellow guests. Like kindergarten show-and-tell, we take turns showing and telling about our special books. This is one of my favorite salons of the year because everyone becomes part of the conversation.
